Air Compresssor Advice Needed

I need to get a full size air compressor for the garage. The local Tractor Supply Company is having a 10% off sale on Ingersoll Rand. There is a huge price difference in the two-stage 80 gallon models. The 5hp 15.8 CFM@90psi/175max is $900. The 7.5hp 24CFM@90psi/175max is $1,900. Is the increased CFM needed for sandblasting, painting and air tools used in restoration? Is it really worth the $1,000 difference? The units don't list decible levels or say anything about automatic drains, how cool they run, etc. I have looked at Eaton/Polar but they are at least $500 more for comparable CFM and another $600 or so for shipping.
