Ok, how many of you cringed when you saw that?? I will from now on when I see those words together
After my short drive last week, I mentioned I had a leak in the rear end. Yup, the pinion seal. So I searched the archives and found that this will not be an easy task. Lots of good info there, but just as much info saying it aint easy. Well I had a leak so i didn't have a choice.
Went for it, and drilled a hole as mentioned, screwed in a bolt, and it budged. Drilled another one opposite it and screwed it in, Bam, pooped right out with a little help from a seal puller.
Figured, well, may as well do the front one too as long as the truck is out of service.
Big mistake, five drilled holes, a big chisel slash, four or five bruised knuckles, a slice on one finger and a gash on another, and the stupid thing is still in the same place it was when i started
Figured I better quit while I still have all my fingers.
Maybe try again tomorrow. Sigh
