Well, today in Maryland it was 82 degrees. I took the '56 PW out for a spin, but she would not start up when I shut her down. After 30 minutes she did start, but was starved for fuel.
Sounds like a typical vapor lock issue, and since I am new to PW's and this truck, I looked at the fuel pump and realized there was no heat shield in place. I went to VPW and saw a picture of one, it looks simple enough to build. Does it just block the heat from the exhaust manifold right above the pump?
Also, my winter/summer setting on the manifold is in the spring/fall position.... Half way, I assume that can not help, but I also assume it is been that way for the past 30 years.... How much would that affect things?
