OK, thanks. I was on the right track, although I was going to leave the fenders on, but that sounds like a good plan. It appears that the cowl comes out as one thing, but the bottom has to slide forward first to tip it so the radiator fill clears the hole in the top.
It does look like it might be close taking the water pump off and trying it that way.
Either way, I guess labor was cheap back then, so it didn't matter if it was a projet to pull the radiator!!
