The only dumb question is the one not asked.
The cowl is actually easiest to remove if you leave the fenders attached to it. Drain the radiator and remove the hoses. Pull the 2 nuts at the bottom of the radiator. Remove the bolts at the front ends of the cowl brace rods. Remove your hood. Take the bolts off the bottom rear of the fenders, disconnect the headlight wires at the 2 junction blocks on the frame next to the radiator, and remove one bolt from the bottom rear of each inner fender. Offer some free beer to a couple of buddies and
Lift the assembly up and forward. Instant naked truck syndrome!
This method will leave all of your body alignment intact, and minimize the scrapes and scuffs.
