Here is a interesting write up on wood pellet heating.
http://btpellet.com/pellet_fuel
I heat two buildings with pellets. I like them. One thing to remember, wood pellets are not all the same. There are good hardwood pellets available at premium prices to cheap (who know what) pellets for short bucks but the heat is short also. I use Cubex hardwood pellets from Canada. 1 pound=
9000 BTU's.
There are two types of pellet stoves. horozontal feed and vertical drop feed. The vertical drop feed stoves cost quite a bit more and are greatly safer than the horizontal feed.
I have burned pellets for 18 years and have seen the prices of a 40 pound bag of pellets climb each year in cost.
