Unless you put more horses under the hood, the 230 dos'nt have the power. I have them in a truck that hase a built up 230 and they are pretty good but I spent $2200 building the motor just to retain the stock flathead. If I were to do it again, I would swap in a V8 (modest) or diesel (expensive)possibly a 251. I had a 1/2 ton WC with a 251 and 4.89's that went down the road faster than I wanted! Remember the trucks that came with 4.89's originally also had 7.50-16 tires for a reason.
