You answered your own question when you stated you wanted it for work. 5.83's are for work and 4.89's are for speed record attempts at Bonneville Salt Flats. I have 4.89's in one truck and 5.83's in another, both with 230 engines. I have 38" Swampers to increase traction and ground clearance and to look good. (See the image.) The 4.89's are a bit "wimpy" with the Swampers but the 5.83's are just right.
