I work in the Bronx across the street from a City Social Services building, and everyday I see the people lining up for assistance. The majority appear to be truly needy, and for them I have the utmost compassion. After all, in this economy, if you work for a living, you are one step away from being homeless. I think to myself, There by the grace of God go I. It makes me feel fortunate that I have been a garbageman for over 30 years. And then there are the ones who pull up in the Escalades and Navigators, 300's and Mercedes sporting the bling and behaving like real turds. It turns my stomach to think that my tax dollars are enabling these individuals. So just like the guy with the food stamps, real bottom feeders.
