Planning to build another shop over the winter (Ca has good winter weather to build).
I'd love to have something like 40'x60' but my pockets just aren't that deep and I'm hoping to end up with a 30'x30' with 10'-12' foot wall height.
Footings will be 12"x12" with a solid 6" slab.
I've got about a $10k budget +/- but I'm stuck between building it from wood or going with the throw em' up galvanized/aluminum pre-fabbed route.
Wood eventually rots and needs lot's of annual exterior mtce- painting, staining, roofing etc.
Metal buildings require less mtce and I could fasten it all together within a few days but I'm not sure that it would share the integrity of a wood frame building.
Both wood and metal buildings have their pro's and con's and would be similar +/- in cost to build.
What would you do and why?
