Hi Don,
Maybe its a Northeast rust thing, but all I have ever accomplished in using the threaded holes is to strip them out. I dont even bother with them any more. I am sure in a vehicle that has had the drums removed in the not too distant past they might work, but good luck on the ones that have sat out in a field or worse for the last 30 years.
I stand by my earlier method!
