I have tried using the jack screws as, well, jack screws! Never tried a puller on them. As I said in the first post, I find it a whole lot easier to pull the drum and hub as a unit, then seperate on the ground. Now to clarify, 99% of the ones I pull are parts trucks that are being stripped down for parts. These have often sat in mud or outside for a loong time. Normal methods of work, just dont work on these.
If I was pulling the drum on my Power Wagon, that has been off in the past few years, and has neverseize on it etc, I would probably pull just the drum.
