The engine is a VM Motori, a lightweight V-6 diesel. VM is an Italian company that was just sold by Roger Penske, to Chrysler/Fiat. The engine has 245 HP and 406 lb ft. of torque and is EPA rated at 34 mpg, 28.3 mpg combined, city/highway.
This company has worked closely with Cummins and this engine in currently used in both Toledo and Detroit in the new Jeeps and Grand Cherokee for export to Europe, however Chrysler doesn't think there is enough interest to sell it in the US.
The purpose of the Petition is to show them that there is interest. Your help would be appreciated.
