I started getting messages over and over from the same account, first Plym49@aol.com, then a friend I had not talked to in years (not a truck person), and most recently these Ugg messages.

I tried sending them messages so they knew I had gotten 50 messages supposedly from them, but got no reply. It made me wonder if this is a new thing, people taking over old inactive accounts, and using their address book. In the old friends case I know for a fact that none of their friends would have had me as a contact. I knew them, they knew me, that was the total circle of contact.

I just thought of another, a guy I was trying to buy something from on Craig's List. His email started spamming me a couple weeks after we first talked. It was also an AOL account.

I used to get the kind of messages you are talking about, and until these last couple incidents I would have assumed it was more of the same. These don't quite fit the same pattern.

Have you heard of this before?

Going through my history with this it has been three AOL accounts, and one Yahoo that just SPAMMED me over and over again. The AOL ones were all about the same in format, maybe there was a problem with AOL accounts being hacked?

In any case, I just ignore them, I just get curious sometimes as to why this stuff happens.

Eric
