Sounds like a spark prob.
Yeas, condensers die from, infant mortality, probably m,ore than from, age. I don't change them.
I'd suspect some dirt between the points, or a bad primary wire , or connection.
24v = M37? The distributor supposedly only goes in one way. But if you tried hard enough it could be out of time 180°. It would wobble as yopu crank. If you pulled the oil pump, timing could be anyplace, if you didn't re-install properly.
