How good are chains for dealing with mud ? I got stuck yesterday in my B1 2wd after delivering some sandbags. (HiLift jacks are lifesavers) I am adding a locker soon. However, the majority of driving is on roads so I don't want to go with an aggressive mud offroad tire. Thinking about just chaining up when I need to drive in the dirt/mud Are all chains created equal or some better for mud ? Does airing down in mud help or make matters worse ? Also I will be adding duals on the rear, do duals chained up improve the situation ? I just remember driving in Indiana 30 years ago with chains in snow and being nearly unstoppable. Any suggestions appreciated.
