Battery switch question

I was looking at various battery switches at the Jegs site. Of the 3 that I liked, two were rated for 12 to 16 volts, and one for 24 volts. As this is for the M37, it quickly narrowed to the one that was rated for 24 volts. All three were rated for 250 to 300 amps. I was surprised that a big heavy duty battery cutoff switch would know the difference between 12 and 24 volts?
Guess I need sum edumacatshun about this!
