HELP!!! 2001 2500 Cummins Starting problems

OK, last weekend I hauled a bunch of scrap and racked up about 400 trouble free miles. Coming home we stopped for dinner and when I got in, the truck cranked over hard but started and ran just fine on the drive home. went out to start it the other day and it cranked over real slow like the batteries were dead so I threw it on charge overnight. Come out and it is all charged up but still cranking hard....long story short, have a brand new starter and now it will not turn over at all....I hear something clicking up top under the hood...checked all fuses and relays (swapped the relays around). I am stumped at this point.
