All M-series gauges, except air pressure, are electric as far as I know. I suspect they wouldn't be accurate on 12 volts with either 12 or 24 volt senders. 12 volt gauges and senders of all kinds are cheap and easy to find. I'd swap everything to 12 volt if it was mine.
