I guess it depends what part of the country you are in.In the north west you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a decent road worthy D400 or D500 for $1500-2000.
About ten years ago I had a 70 D400 It was a good truck that would haul twice its weight.The one thing I didnt like was the 4000lb front axle.Too light in the kingpin department for the 7.50 20 tires.
Unless you have your heart set on this truck,I would look at D500s IMHO.Parts are more common.Price is the same...
