I did a little research last night while investigating an axle swap for a friends cj5 and it looks like wagoneers actually have better caster angles than scouts. A lot of people have to cut the C's off the scout axles and rotate them in order to have enough caster to avoid death wobble when they are installed in CJs. Apparently this is not as much problem when using the waggy axles, the down side is waggoneers are 6 lug which is easily fixed in the front by swapping to scout outers, in the rear it would likely mean custom axle shafts especially with an offset rear. Wagoneer axles are about 2" wider than scouts 60" vs 58".

By the way if you decide you really want higher gears I have two sets of scout axles with 3.08 gears I dont think shipping would be horrible for just the gears sets. I believe Don may want one set for his diesels.
