Most likely he is required by WA Seismic code to go that size. (permits?)
Seattle and most of WA has the same seismic requirements as CA. Depending upon building size, span etc. 24"x48" could be just about right.
Just don't order 160 Yards!! Convert those cubic feet to cubic YARDS!! before you order!
