My jumper cables automatically adjust so that if I jump from a 12 volt truck to a 12 volt truck, they carry 12 volts and if I jump from a 6 volt truck to a 6 volt truck, they carry 6 volts. They even automatically become 24 volt cables if I jump from a 24 volt truck to another 24 volt truck. The secret is that they are made of a unique element called "copper".
