Hook a 12 volt cable and half a 6 volt cable in series? Sears electricity operates under different laws that ordinary electricity, so I hesitate to try to explain it. For example, I have "2.4 HP" Sears vacuum cleaner. With ordinary electricity, 2.4 HP at 120V requires 19 amps, which requires at least #12 wire, but Sears engineers, possibly due to the more compact size of their patented electrons, can get by with #16 wire on their vacuum cleaner cords. Similar efficiencies apply to their power tools and stereo amps.
