No one mentioned it but the 5.9 is a substantially smoother running engine. It is hard to beat an inline six for smooth operation. Talk to Don in MO he has a 4bt Wagoneer and a 6bt crew cab and he has mentioned to me how much of a difference there is. I have three cabs and have been dreaming of building a crew cab tow rig, I think with a crew cab you could move the seats back a bit and the doghouse would be less obtrusive. Looking at Bob in IL's truck I think you will definately need a doghouse though, especially if you want to keep the intercooler.
