I have put a NP200 in my WC53. I am using the original centered axle. I had Dave Cirilo put togeter the transfer case for me. I used the transfer case mounts from a 6X6 and added 2" extensions to drop the transfercase to clear the e-brake drum and the floor pan. The floor pan on the WC53 is not cut to allow for the e-brake drum. I had the rear drive shaft shortened. I also put 4.89 gears in. I do have a V8 engine and this combination works really well. I turn 3,000 RPM at 60MPH. I would like to reduce it if I could. I have considered a NV 5 speed transmission. The only problem that I have is that the angle on the intermediate drive line is a little too much and I get some noise. I am thinking that I will remove the parking brake assembly and move the transfercase back up where it belongs. I will put a Microlock system on the front brakes to act as a e-brake. I have purchased a set of Helitool disk brakes for the front that I will put on in the next week or two so I might do it then. Yes I do believe that the truck runs quiter running a centered rear axle. It has to, your not putting your power transfer through 2 90 degree corners in the transfer case. It is straight through.

The truck has been totally rebuilt. All driveline componets are NOS or new. The truck will travel at 60 MPH all day if I want it to. I have had it up to 80 and it is very smooth and tracks very well down the road. No vibrations nor does it wonder. The only thing I do not like at that speed is the brakes. I get one good braking event then they fade very quickly. I do have power brakes. I bought the disk brake set up from Ray to resolve the braking problem (even at 60, the original brakes give me only a sing braking event). I do have a second set of brakes from Ray. I have not decided if I will put them on the rear of my WC53 or put them on the front of my 52 PW. I also have a third set of hubs set up for disks but I need to make the cliper holders for them. We will see what I end up doing.
