Replacing 5.83s with 4.88s?

If you have done this conversion on a PW or M37, where are you finding the replacement gears without taking out a second mortgage? It appears new ones are over $350 per axle. Can NOS or new manufactured gears be found for less? Anyone buy the removed 5.83s? Thanks, B4PW!
