I have one pair of NOS 6.50 x 16 Budd wheels with the correct offset for dual use. Their existence shows they were available, if not as a Dodge part, probably from a Budd wheel dealer.
They can be used only on the outside. They do not have enough offset to clear the brake drums when used on the inside. I have two pairs of "home made" 6.50 x 16 Budd wheels where the inner portion of the wheel was separated from the rim and the offset modified.
No spacers are required with these wheels. I have one pair of spacers. They go on after the inside wheel is tightened down (square drive). They were on a truck with 5.50 x 16 rims and 9.00 x 16 tires. 9.00 x 16 tires have a "fatter" cross section when used on the smaller rims because the bead is "pinched" in. This let the side walls touch. I haven't tried the spacers with 6.50 x 16 rims.
Hhmmmmm! Maybe I'll junk the combat rims and dual up all three axles on my WC-62.
