I'd recommend you get the battery charged. It will help to put your truck in a warm place before you try to start it. I used to jump 6V from 12V batts all the time. It was a 2 man job. You'd put the neg jumper to the 6v battery and then start cranking, as your partner starts cranking, put the 12V pos jumper to the frame of the truck. As soon as your truck starts, take the pos jumper off the frame. I have also had a battery blow up in my face, so I don't recommend this. It is much safer and smarter to charge your 6V battery.
