If your unit has one of those black-out switches, good luck. We had one of those in a truck on the fire dept. When I consulted the local nat. gaurd armory on the light problem we had, he advised my that they were an add-on kit not OE. They were shipped directly to the base that took delivery of the truck and were added {patched in} on site by whoever needed something to do. My recomendation is to get a wiring diagram of the truck, yank out the switch and reconnect the wires as they were in the original truck. If you e-mail me a fax number I can send you a copy of the wiring diagram I have for 77-78.
