Get an M37 front clip, and then make an M37 Command Car! The rear body could be made from mostly flat heavy sheetmetal. I doodled some drawings and the 1/2 ton body length works out close enough that you could use a 1/2 ton CC ragtop.
It would make the ultimate SUV.
I wish I had more interior photos of the XM195, which was an M37 chopped 12" in length and a one piece body put on. Reminds me of a super Land Rover. I have three external views of the front, drivers side and rear, but none of the passenger side nor interior. It looks like it would make the world's toughest Jeep.
