heater output

Curious to know from other earlier model (40's) PW owners what type of heat they can expect from the heater. As many know the trans draft pad does not provide a weather tight seal and this time of year it gets much colder.

I know my heater probably hasn't been serviced by the previous owner - would like to know whqt others are doing?
