Inspite of many people professing the merits of powdercoating I have NEVER seen powder coating resist rust at all. At best a year without blistering; NO where near as long as paint.
Yes preperation is everything...yet powdercoating FAILS in EVERY application that I have ever seen.
Proper prep, epoxy primer, and topcoat with a decent paint will outlast powdercoating 100x.
