40's, even 50's are good storage temps for most beers, at least for a month or so (should be consumed by then). Ales, like IPA's, keep much longer, wheat beers not very long, pilsners will keep a while. Sunlight and fluorescent light does more harm than moderate temperatures. Enjoy.
