I don't know if they used the Blackhawk design, but the gland nut around the valve loosened and the valve wouldn't release. He gave me the jack, I thought maybe I could use the horizontal ram for some thing, tubing bender? I found the simple fix and gave it back to him.
Anyway, I'd start at the valve, disassemble and clean. Otherwise, I' wonder if the piston ring/seal is so gummy/gunky/swelled it has too much friction?
Or yet, another simple fix, how are the springs? There is a couple beside the ram, maybe weak, broken, lost? Make new/stronger ones from garage door springs? Add more?
