You all should watch this show. I watched it twice. This model has had thousands of complaints regarding accidental firing and injury. The show interviewed the rifle's inventor and he had tried to get Remington to fix the bad trigger design since it was new.They said in '48 it was too expensive to fix (about 5.5 cents each) and didn't heed his advice. Gun went off when safety was pushed off to unload and also when a misfire and the bolt handle was touched. Said some police and military have stopped using this rifle.
See the show...scared me to be around one now. This show did not indicate idiot or unsafe gun handling, worn, dirt, etc. as the cause of firing, just bad design. Even on new guns.
