Yesterday Before work, I got to thinkin about how good a winch would do my M-37. I got to thinking about how they are $1,200. for a setup and thought that was too much to spend for one. Well I remembered a Farmer up by Marlette Mich, a small farming town about 1/2 hour north east of me said he had a M-37 with winch that was in ruff shape with a bad motor in it BUT the truck has a complete and functional PTO winch. Well I called the ol' boy up and asked him if he wanted to sell it. He said he never thought about but seeing I was interested in it he decided what the hey, might as well move it. Well I asked him how much he wanted and here is the shocker....He said he would take $300! for the whole truck, winch and all!!! I just about peed my pants! I told him to stick around for an hour, that I would be up there in a 1/2 hour, so I hop in my truck and off I go! I get up there and he takes me to it, It was burried in a snow bank, but I shoveled off enuff snow to inspect the winch and PTO shafts etc and sure nuff, its all there! Well I was estactic, but I tried to cover up my enthusiasm...Anyhow, I told him I would take it. Well to make a long story short, I gave him $100 to hold it and will be back in a couple weeks to pay him off. He even said he would let me leave it there till spring and would help me load it on the trailer. Man talk about service. I have traded with this guy alot in the past and such. So..anyhow that is that. Right now I am not doing much with the M-37, except collecting parts and accessories for it so when the weather breaks, I can get working on it. So, now I have two of them....Now time for a M-43 and then a contact maintenence truck....after that, time for another 45-68 Power Wagon...and then...a WC-63 6X6........WHen does it ever end???
