Flooding is a sunk float, or a hunk of the inside of a rubber fuel line hose between needle and seat. The way to clear the gunk temporarily is to shut off the gas and run it until the bowl is empty, just a minute or two. Then allow gas flow, and the incoming rush of gas into a fully opened needle will usually push the gunk into the bowl, making it run better.
Then, if the chunk ends up in the main jet, cross a couple plug wires to make it back fire, then close the choke, so the back blast blows the crud out of the jet. Back into the bowl, awaiting another chance to cause grief.
