I put this on the WWII Forum, but it never hurts to cast the net out as far as possible.
My 1941 WC-6 fires right up and then the fun begins with a lot of gasoline leaking out of the carburetor onto the hot exhaust manifold. I concur with my friends who say the float is probably stuck. The most common recommendation is to first try tapping on the carb with a mallet to shake loose the stuck part.
I've tried but I'm not sure just how hard I should be banging on the housing or exactly where. And if, through this forum I get some good advice which I follow and it stays stuck, what's the next best course of action?
Thanks
Don Blair
