If your calipers use pins (caliper bolts) to secure the calipers, typically you will find a rubber grommets in the caliper holes with a metal sleeve. The caliper pin goes thru this grommet and sleeve to allow the caliper to slide when brakes are applied. Once again.....if.....that rubber grommet deteriorated and came out, considerable slop in the caliper could result. Yet the caliper pin would be solid as its screwed into the caliper bracket. Again, I would imagine that this type of slop 'could' allow a caliper to contact the wheel ???
