Best trans behind a 4bt??

I am planning on putting a 4bt in my 1947 WDX crew cab, and I been searching craigslist for a 4bt and a trans. I have a 230 in it now and looked a Pauls page and he recommended the nv4500, but he also has the extra 2 inches with the 251. I would like to keep the front end the way it is without adding extensions. Any advice would be great. thanks Mike in Georgia
