nope you have to remove the whole core support assembly. set on the ground on a blanket or something soft if you have nice paint, grill down and remmove radiator install new one. At least that is how I have done it when paint scratching is an issue. (but that is a rare issue on my trucks ;/)) are you sure the one you bought needs a recore?
