Diesel Ford W/6spd manual

I Know its off topic but I'm looking at a 2000 Diesel F-250 SuperDuty With tow package (3:73 rear) that has a 6spd manual tranny. I've heard the automatics weren't that dependable so I like the fact its got the manual. Would appriciate any opinions ( other then "Get a Dodge" lol ). I've also heard 2002 Fords will have Cummins in them??
