Are you absolutely sure that is the correct pitman arm ? The only stock pitman arms I have ever seen on M37's are as in the picture taken from US Army TM-9-8030. Further, it does not appear from the picture that the pitman arm is really pulled on the steering box output shaft. Note all the exposed splines/shaft. I have never seen this before either. Could it be the wrong arm, putting extra stress on the ball end and not fitting the steering box properly ?
