My reply assumes your talking about the front knuckles ?? The lower bearing should not fall off. You will need a split bearing puller to get it off. They are pressed on tight. Wear on the top cone and cup, difficult to measure.
How does it look ? I have never opened a knuckle that the top bushing and cup and lower bearing and cup were not very worn. In fact I have always seen and felt a washboard on the lower cup.
