I read somewhere that--- It takes 25 percent more oil to produce a gallon of diesel fuel compared to gasoline. Wonder how true that is. Supply and demand factors also effect cost, but if the above is true theoretically gas should be cheaper than diesel, then again how costly is the process to make diesel vs gasoline. In a perfect world then operating cost for a flat head would be comparable to diesel.
