Thanks for the tip, Junior- makes sense to me. I think I will reroute the fuel line as you describe and see if VPW has a repro heat sheild for the 251 engine. I thjought that the bubbles seen thru the clear fuel filter might be gasoline vapor and as the vapor increases it forces the liquid fule down- you can actually see the fule level in the filter drop as the engine warms up!
