Copey,
Thank you for sharing your life with us.
The father of one of my grammer school classmates died when I was in 7th grade. His older brother, 15 years of age, took over the family refuse business. Perry Duryea, the Speaker of the New York State House of Representatives and a lifelong resident of our small village had the House pass a resolution allowing him to obtain his CDL at 15. Michael then worked full time for the next 45 years and finished and graduated from High School on time.
A recent NYC transplant started to tell a story about him to me. I stopped him in mid thought and told him what Mike had lived through and done to keep the family business solvent, and help raise his kid brother and sister.....
I am so very lucky; thank you for reminding me just how lucky I am!
Eddie
