It's a function of overpass height vs the flipping momentum of a car.
As the car leave the bridge, the front end is pulled down by gravity, yet the rear remains on the bridge, starting the car into a flip. If it turns between 90 and 270°, it ends up on it's top. At 90°, it hits front forst. but the rear is still going forward. Up to nearly 270°. it lands on it top. Over 270°, it lands on it's butt, but would finally continue to flip onto it's wheels.
So anything between on, say, 20 feet to 60 feet, it ends up on it's top.
I am not a physicist, and I don't even play one on the internet, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
