Brazing occurrs in the temperature range between soldering and welding, generallt topping out below 2000°. No parent metal in the assembly is melted in a brazing process.
Aluminum is regularly brazed as is copper, steel & stainless.
In welding the parent metal of the assembly is melted to become a portion of the fusion deposit.
